Meet Dr. Bolds
Dr. Monica Bolds is an alumnus of Howard University College of Dentistry, in Washington, D.C. and completed her General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital Center, an affiliate of Columbia University Hospital, in New York City (Level One Trauma Center). She has been active in the dental profession over 20 years; cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery have been her passion.
Dr. Bolds also has a strong passion for educating youth and their families about oral health, prevention of dental disease and oral appearance improvement. She has devoted the next phase of her career to focus on seniors living in assisted care communities and empowering them and their loved ones with the knowledge they need to maintain their teeth and keep their beautiful smiles healthy.
She has practiced in a variety of settings from mobile school programs to military soldier readiness programs, as well as missions’ programs to help people living in impoverished conditions.
Dr. Bolds was born and raised in Paterson, NJ and the eldest of 4 children. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Business at Kent State University, in Kent, Ohio, she returned home and worked in the public-school system and managed the family restaurant, before making the decision to go to dental school. She was involved in civic organizations that mentored to the youth and participated in area programs devoted to helping with at risk youth development with a focus on college entry.
She owned and operated her first dental office in Union City, NJ, where she recruited most of her staff from the local high schools during presentations at career fairs. She gave the local youth summer jobs and trained them to be dental assistants and front desk staff. She also mentored them in professionalism and career development. She has been awarded numerous times for her devotion to the youth in the community.
Dr. Bolds is an avid tennis player and pickle baller, competes in various leagues and tournaments. Her hobbies include acting, traveling, designing shoes, gardening, yoga, cooking and spending time with family, and friends. She is a current member of:

About Us
We aim to monitor and care for the dental health and hygiene for residents by sending in a team of dental professionals to service all participating residents.
All subscribing residents will receive x-rays, clinical exams, cleanings, restoration, and extractions as needed. (All service(s) are relegated to the selected plan option)
Cleanings will be based on the level of care needed to restore or maintain oral health.
Restorations (fillings) will be done on teeth that are able to be restored, this will allow the patient/resident to maintain proper chewing. The restoration will enable them to sustain oral nutrition and prevent decay from progressing to pain and tooth loss.
Extractions (tooth removal) will be done on teeth that cannot be saved due to advanced decay progression, or that are movable and have infections. All of which may lead to an emergency for the patient and the care giver.
Denture assessments and cleanings will be done for the residents that have existing dentures. Ill-fitting appliances or dentures in need of repairs will be referred to a local dentist.

Dentistry In Motion’s goal is to provide residents living in assisted care communities in the great state of Georgia with dental care. We believe that our teeth and oral health are important for wellness.
